Rio Grande Fence Co. of Nashville Wins Sixth Straight AGC Subcontractor Project of the Year and Second Straight Community Service Award at the 2019 AGC Build Tennessee Awards

Rio Grande Fence Co. of Nashville was awarded its sixth straight AGC Subcontractor Project of the Year, in the $300,000 - $350,000 category, and second straight AGC Community Service Award, at the 2019 AGC Build Tennessee Awards. The Associated General Contractors of Tennessee - Middle Tennessee presented its annual awards to members at the Loveless Barn. All projects are judged by out-of-state AGC members that do not have a Middle Tennessee office.

"This year's Subcontractor Project of the Year at the Natchez Trace Youth Academy in Waverly, Tennessee challenged our project and installation team with difficult terrain, meticulous standards for material handling and equipment usage, and vigilance regarding the safety of the facility's residents throughout the installation," said Derek Smith, Rio Grande's Chief Operating Officer. "Through precise planning and exceptional execution, our team completed the month-long project early and on budget."

The 3,500 total linear feet of Ameristar Montage Invincible curved-top fence installation was 90% self-performed, with access control installation provided by Access Control Systems, LLC.

"Our annual Good Friday Service Project led in turn to the 2019 AGC Community Service Award, our second straight. Sixty-one years ago my grandfather founded the company on a set of core principles we have never wavered from, including helping those less fortunate among us," Smith said. "We were pleased to donate 436 total linear feet of Ameristar steel ornamental fence to provide perimeter security and peace of mind to the women residing at Mending Hearts Inc.'s transitional living facilities as they recover from addiction and renew their lives in the city we live and work in."

Rio Grande Fence Co. has won the American Fence Association National Fence Contractor of the Year award in 2013, 2015, and 2016 in addition to its multiple local awards.

Since 1958 Rio Grande Fence Co. of Nashville has been installing and repairing fence for commercial and industrial projects in the Mid-South region.
