OSHA Online Training for RGF During Snowpocalypse 2021

NASHVILLE, Tenn – February 24, 2021 – 88 percent of Rio Grande Fence Co. of Nashville’s 41 installation crew members earned OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 safety certifications during Nashville’s recent inclement weather, with the remainder to be certified by the end of February 2021.

“With job sites shut down throughout Middle Tennessee due to hazardous working conditions, RGF took advantage of the opportunity to upgrade our safety credentials to employee and customer benefit,” said Derek Smith, Chief Operating Officer. “On short notice, our Safety Manager, Justin Megibben, coordinated online training with the University of South Florida’s Corporate Training and Professional Education department. The results speak for themselves: now 11 of 12 Crew Leaders are OSHA 30 and 24 of 28 installation Crew Members are OSHA 10 safety certified. The only exceptions were one Crew Leader without online access and four installers awaiting a Spanish-language version of the course.”

Installation and operations employees were paid their regular wages for the time invested in their coursework.

Rio Grande Fence Co. of Nashville promotes an employee-driven safety culture paramount to employees and customers. Employees receive premier OSHA-certified equipment, PPE, and education while customers are ensured of compliance with their rigorous safety concerns from initial project discussions up to and including Job Site Specific Safety Plans. “As The Commercial Fence Professionals™, it’s important to our growing work family that everyone receives the best safety training in our industry,” said Smith.
